Alcohol October 11, 2016

Journal: Please describe to me what you have learned from drug addiction and use 4-5 sentences.

Objective: TSWBT write one to two sentences about a problem drinker, alcoholic, and social drinker.

Lesson: I had the students come up with their own definition of a problem drinker, alcoholic, and a social drinker. Then as a class we did an activity were we put descriptive words under each category on the board. Each student had a opportunity to come to the board and put a description under one of the categories.

Assignment: N/A for aspire

Baseball October 12, 2016

Bell Work:

Draw the foul line.

Describe the foul line.

Objective: The Student will follow all the rules and instructions.

Lesson: Students played baseball, but instead of a baseball we used a dodgeball, and we called it Dodgebase.

Pacer Test

Objective: Students will encourage each other through the pacer test by providing positive feedback.

Lesson: students practiced and performed the pacer test. The students kept track of their score and recorded on their worksheet which I (Casey Swain) will keep in the classroom for future references.

Assignment: This assignment will be graded in the future as a part of their standards.

Fit for life September 30, 2016

Objective: the student will be able be active for 50 percent of the class.

Lesson: the students did a warm up, freeze tag. For today the students were practicing lifestyle activities during class and being active for 50 percent of the class period.

Beginning Wednesday, September 21st, MMA will be offering our families the opportunity to purchase a rice bowl from Rumbi Grill every Wednesday for their child’s lunch. All proceeds from the purchases will go towards our 6th and 9th grade end of year fieldtrips. Your choices will consist of:

PE/Weight training

This page is for both the 8th grade and 9th grade PE classes. I am excited to cover a variety of topics and sports that will help you have the tools to create a physically active life style. During the first weeks of school we will have team building activities and cover grace and courtesy. If you have signed up for either class you will need the following material:

  1. A Change of clothes
  2. A writing utensil that is blue or black ink.

These are items you will need in class, I am excited for the new school year and I look forward to the first week of school.

Health 8th and 9th

Welcome back!

This page is for both the 8th grade and 9th grade health classes. I am excited to cover a variety of topics that will help you have the tools to create a healthy life style. During the first weeks of school we will have team building activities and cover grace and courtesy. If you have signed up for either class you will need the following material:

  1. A small note book.
  2. loose leaf paper and a writing utensil that is blue or black ink.
  3. Colored pencils, and or markers.

These are items you will need in class, but if you would like to bring classroom items such as magazines (i.e. Top Gear, peoples magazine, This old house, sports illustrated, US Weekly) 3×5 index cards. You may bring a personal computer, or I-pad to class on days that we use the internet for classroom assignments you may. Those dates and assignments will be given at a later time. During the first few weeks of school we will be talking about the olympics and how health plays a role in the olympic games. Be sure to either watch the games, read about them online, and or health hazards that play a role in the games. If you do not have access to these kinds of material you may use a local library to find this material or let me know and I will give you some other suggestions to keep you up dated.

I am excited for the new school year and I look forward to the first week of school.

Today I collected the syllabus, and as a class we reviewed and completed the following about archery:

1. 11 skill cues used in archery and how to shoot.

2. The four whistle commands used when shooting in and during class.

3.  The layout of the archery course.

4. Then the students created their own target.
