Final Call For Clas Ropes Course Fieldtrip

Attention!  Friday morning, 9am, will be the cut off for the permission slips.  Those who do not have a slip in will not be going next week.  We need a firm count to then cut the check for the Clas Ropes course.  Also, please note that pick up time has been moved to 1 pm.  We ask that students be prepared with a cold lunch that they can access at any time during the event.  It would be great if students had a pack of some sort that can hold their water bottle and lunch.

Wednesday’s group has an additional carpool that recently opened up.  Click here to view the available slots: http://www.wejoinin.com/sheets/knlli

Also, please encourage your student to bring a snack.  They are getting hunger pains before our lunch time of 12:36.

Here is a link to the paperwork in case you need to re-print any of the documents:

Jr High Social Staining Event

Saturday, August 15 we are gathering as a jr high to paint the playground equipment, so wear your grungiest clothes.  We are meeting at 8:30am (so we don’t fry in the heat of the sun) at the playground.  We also have received word that we can move all the picnic tables from the ‘outdoor classroom’ to establish a lunch area outside near the portables.  We will need some keen eyes to see how best to set up these tables.  If you have any questions email Ms. Jessi jleavell@mariamontessoriacademy.org or Ms Emily egoddard@mariamontessoriacademy.org photo Aldridge, we will be paying royalties since we are using your picture from last year’s staining event.

Announcing the First Field Trip of the Year

This year you will be part of an Advisory house, which will be a mixture of 7th, 8th & freshman.  You will be attending Clas Ropes in Eden.

We are working with certified drivers to arrange transportation to and from this event and will be providing a We Join In link so that you may sign up for your given day;

Wednesday August 26 – Ms. Fallon & Ms. Jessi
Thursday August 27 – Mr. Rob & Ms. Marie
Friday August 28 – Ms. Kat & Ms Emily

We will gather at the course 8:45 am and begin the adventure at 9 am.  Parents & carpools will be excused after 12:30.

Permission slips will need to be returned signed by August 19th, the third day of school.  Feel free to print out your slips here and return them earlier if you wish.  Those who do not have slips turned in by the proper date will remain at the school for a regular day.

Directions:
Once over the North Ogden divide take a LEFT on 3300 East. Drive on 3300 East for a while (less than 2 miles) until you see North Fork Road. Turn LEFT onto North Fork Road. You will be on North Fork Road for about 3 miles. Do NOT turn into the Ben Lomond “Trailhead” (Wait for the Cutler Flats Gate). Among other things, you will pass Lauren Lane, a Middle Gate for Ben Lomond, and a Lamondi Stake Camp. Once you see the Cutler Flats Gate, turn LEFT onto that trail-head. On this road, go about .6 miles, passing a solar panel on your right, etc.  You will come to a fork in the road and a sign.  Turn LEFT at the little sign. the next sign you come to, turn RIGHT through the red fence we have opened for you.  You will know you have arrived at our Eden Course when you see a concrete square building – our bathrooms, as well as a gray and green round pavilion.

It’s Farm Time – donating ingredients..

On March 11th & 12th we are going to visit Holmgren farms in Tremonton.

Picture1During these visits we will be working as a community to provide a dutch oven chili lunch.  If you don’t like chili be prepared to provide an alternative lunch for yourself.

We are looking to families to sign up for needed donated ingredients.  We are also interested in inviting a small number of adults to enjoy the day with us.  If you are interested, or are already driving up and wish to stay you can try our chili.  Send Ms Jaime an email jboothe@mariamontessoriacademy.org if you are interested.  See the link below to sign up for ingredient donations. We would like all donated ingredients brought to the school anytime before March 9th.
