Night in Paris!!

Where: Yurtable

When: Friday Dec. 19th. 11:00 am-2:00 pm

Who: 7th & 8th Graders

What to wear: Girls – Skirt, Dress. Doesn’t have to have a collar during the stomp.

Guys – Nice Shirt & jeans or regular school clothes.

Snacks will be provided!

This is an early out day. The rest of the school will be out at 1:00 pm. Please plan to pick up your child at 2:00 pm that day, unless they are on the committee & will be done by 2:30.

Nordic Valley Ski Night

Parents,

We’re happy to have scheduled our ski/snowboard nights at Nordic Valley! The nights we have scheduled are January 13, 2015 and February 3, 2015.

The cost is $27 per student, which includes equipment rental, a lift pass, and a 2 hour group lesson. There is a discount for students with their own equipment and/or a season pass to Nordic Valley. An optional meal is available for $5. Our group lessons will begin at 4:00pm. In order to make it possible for students to make it to the resort and be ready to ski at 4:00pm, we will be doing registration at MMA.

Registration will be held on the following dates and times:

Monday, December 15th 5:00-7:00 in the evening

Wednesday, December 17th 8:00-8:30 in the morning

Monday, January 5th 3:00-4:00 after school

** Monday is the last day for registration for the January 13th ski night. We will schedule more dates for the February 3rd ski night.**

We will take cash, check, or credit card. Please make checks payable to MAPA.

Box Top Store

A special holiday Box Top Store will be at MMA on Tuesday, December 16th from 11:15 to 12:45 in the conference room. Don’t forget to have your children come with their cut and non-expired box tops to ‘buy’ lots of fun presents for their family, friends, or themselves! If you’re interested in helping MMA, but can’t volunteer, consider a monetary donation to the box top store so we can restock the shelves. It’s been a huge success, and the more help we get, the better!

Natural History Museum Field Trip is Tomorrow!

Students need to be at the Museum no later than 9:45 am! You will need to drop them off at the circle drive in front of the Museum. Please be available to pick up your child at 2:00pm at the same place. The address to the Natural History Museum is 301 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City, Utah 84108

Students will use the museum as an extension of their classrooms. They will rotate from teacher to teacher and be given lessons in the areas of math and art, science, language arts, history, and CTE. Students will also have time to visit museum exhibits on their own and purchase souvenirs from the museum gift shop.

What you will need to wear or bring:

Comfortable, modest clothing

Comfortable shoes

Water bottle

Sack lunch (NO microwavable lunches)

A writing utensil (pencil or pen)

A smile

*Money, if you want to purchase items from the gift shop

Any students that did not turn in their permission slip, are aware that they will still come to school as a usual day. A Jr High teacher will be here & they will have things to work on.

Intent to Re-Enroll

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are now ready to begin Maria Montessori Academy’s Intent to Re-enroll process (Declare Intent) for the 2015-2016 school year. Please let us know if you plan on returning for the next school year by completing the “Declare Intent” for 2015-2016 process (it was sent out via email on Monday December 1st). Please make sure to log in through the email that you received and complete it by December 19th. Note, this is not asking you to re-enter the lottery, it is notifying us of your intent to return for the next school year. If your plans change, please notify the office as soon as possible to make appropriate arrangements.

School Pride Sweatshirts & Long Sleeve Shirts

Too cold for t-shirts? No problem! Dress code approved sweatshirts and long-sleeve t-shirts are available to order now for a limited time. The order deadline is December 12th. No future order windows will be scheduled. MAPA plans to have them in time for Christmas.
