We had such a fun time today making our Gratitude soup. Somehow, as the work progressed the boys really got into making the soup and the girls slowly dispersed and began coloring their Thanksgiving books. It was so fun seeing these boys really get into cooking and leading the kitchen efforts. Ms. Brec was able to get some video and pictures and we hope to be able to share some of those. We all sat together and shared the things we were grateful for in relation to our school and classroom. Thank you for your help in providing items for the soup as well as your additional contributions. I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving break. We will see everyone back and ready to work December 2nd.

Gratitude
I want to sincerely thank you for all the support you give our classroom. We have several of you who come to read with the students, give spelling tests, cut laminate, organize fundraising events, and such. I understand how busy life is and your extra effort does not go unnoticed. I also want to thank each of you for the wonderful support you give me in being able to reach each child in our classroom. My love for the Montessori philosophy is that we embrace each child as the unique individual they are. Each person has unique talents, struggles and potentials. I love each and everyone of your children and appreciate the support and knowledge you share with me in order to help them reach their own unique potentials and be able to command their own future. We are seeing amazing things blossom within the walls of our classroom and it delights me to see the children come alive.
We are fast approaching the end of November when many of us celebrate Thanksgiving. This Friday our classroom will be having a Gratitude feast of our own. We will be celebrating and reflecting on the gratitude we have for our school and classroom. I would like to encourage you to have a conversation with your child and have them prepared to share some aspect of our classroom or school they are grateful for. We will then be making a gratitude soup. If you would be willing to provide an item to be added to our soup, such as potato, onion, carrot, can of beans, etc. If a few of you would also be willing to provide bowls, spoons, and possibly some bread or rolls. It would be appreciated. Some of the children have asked to bring other items, you are welcome, but please don’t feel obligated. Thanks you for all you do.
Reminder that picture retakes will be Tuesday morning.
School Gratitude Feast
Hello Families,
The school provides a gratitude feast for the community every November. If you are willing to provide help with this wonderful event please sign up under the We Join In link on this blog. You can help by volunteering your time or providing food. Thanks for your help with this.
Also, remember Friday is early out. Students will be dismissed at 1:00 p.m. Thank you to the families who provided last minute snack this week. It really helped! You are all so wonderful.
I also wanted to share with you how great the students are doing. We have started holding classroom meetings where we problem solve agenda items and conduct a compliment circle. It is fantastic to see them noticing the strengths of others and sharing in building each others confidences. They are creating solutions for problems using the 3 R’s : related, respectful and reasonable. They are using some great thinking skills and seeing how their solutions are working to resolve agenda items.
Thank you for all your support!
I first want to thank our room mothers Bri and Heidi for a fantastic job on helping our classroom for the Fall Festival. They did such a great job. I want to thank all of you for your support. We had such wonderful donations for our basket and so many pies for our game. We are so grateful for your support and efforts. We couldn’t make any of this happen without all of you. It was wonderful seeing so many of you at the festival. This is always an exciting week at school because of the upcoming holiday. Please remember we do not wear costumes to school.
This also reminds me. We all still having children wearing hooded shirts to school. This is never allowed, even on Fridays. We also have students who are wearing jeans during the week, only on Friday. Please save us the paperwork trouble and catch your students before they leave for school.
I want to apologize for Montessori Manager data this past week. The children were working really well and receiving lots of lessons, but we changed a few things as far as recording and it will take us a few days to get this new routine down. Hopefully, you should start to get a more accurate representation before too long.
We love your kids and are so excited about the progress they are making.
If you are interested in ordering a yearbook, the order is due this Friday. Also, we had pictures Tuesday. You will still be able to order them online at a later time.
