Gala Basket

Hi,

I wanted to follow-up and ask for help creating our classroom basket for this years Gala.  I have had two people donate books, but we would really like a create a basket that will help raise money for the school.  Please look over this wejoin and see if there are items you would be willing to donate.  Items need to be brought to school no later than this Wednesday, March 1st.  Thank you.

Thank you for a wonderful week!

I want to express how much I enjoyed visiting with each of you this week.  I love your children and appreciate the opportunity to work with them each day.  It is a pleasure to reflect on their growth and celebrate with you, the people who love them the most.

I also want to thank our room mother, Jenney, for all her help with planning our Valentine party.  I appreciate everyone who came to help and all the items that were donated.  We couldn’t have made it happen without you!  Thank you!

I cannot believe tomorrow is Friday!

Tomorrow afternoon we will be decorating boxes for Valentines.  Students have been asked to bring a box.  Cereal and shoe boxes are ideal and the box must be able to fit inside their lockers.  If you have items you would like to donate for decorating, please feel free to send them.

Class photos will be sent home tomorrow.

Also, don’t forget about our home project for February: “I wonder…”  January projects were so much fun!  I really enjoy seeing their ideas come to life.

I look forward to seeing everyone at conferences next week.

Snow Clothing

I am hoping to do a team building activity with the students sometime next week.  The weather and the air have been hit and miss, but I am hoping Tuesday.  This activity will focus on math concepts while working with snow.  I am needing all students to have proper snow clothing, especially gloves, sent to school starting Monday.  Also, if you have a metal bread pan, that you would be willing to let us use outside in the snow, would you please send it (labeled with your name) on Monday.

Gala Fundraiser

Our annual Gala is coming up in March and we have an opportunity to help support this wonderful event by creating a gift basket for the silent auction.  Our classroom basket will take on the theme of reading.  We are seeking donations.  If you would like to donate books, gifts cards, book lights, bookmarks, throw blankets, mugs, tea, anything you relate to reading, that can fit into the basket, please send it with your student and these items will be made into a gift basket.  This is our largest fundraising event.  Our school has been able to purchase computers for our labs, money for field trips, etc. Our new crossing lights were purchased with Gala funds.  Thanks for your support and I hope to see each of you at the Gala.

Valentine Party

Hi,

Our room mother is helping to plan a party for the students on the 14th.  We are asking for volunteers and donated items.  If you would like to help, please sign up here.  Please indicate next to the sign up sheet, what you are bringing and how many.  Some items are were grouped together, but you may only wish to provide part of what is needed.  We will start the party about 1 p.m.

If you have questions regarding volunteering or bringing donations, please email our room mother: Jenney Adams deepdish88@rocketmail.com

Students are welcome to bring valentines.  We currently have 28 students in our classroom.  In order to save time passing valentines, I will not send a list of names. (Many students still want to address them, but those are usually the ones independent enough to pass them out to each person.)
