Gala Auction Basket

Our 6th annual Gala is quickly approaching and this year the committee is asking for our help.  Classroom teachers have been asked to create a basket which will be auctioned at this years event.  The Gala is the schools largest fundraising event each year.  Last years proceeds were used to buy new computers, which we have enjoyed so much this year.  We are not asking for you to go out and spend money, but if you have your own business and would like to donate an item or service, or know someone close to you who does (Grandparent, sibling, aunt, close friend, etc.), or maybe you have a new item around your house that you don’t need or a gift card you may not likely use, please consider donating it to our basket.  Our basket will follow the theme: Sharpening your Saw.  This follows the Steven Covey 7 habits that students learn about at school. (I included a description at the bottom of this post).  Some possible ideas: Doterra, Pampered Chef, homemade soaps, new book, gift card to restaurant, movie tickets, salon service, etc. anything would be fabulous. I ask that we have items brought into the classroom Monday, March 14th.  Thank you for your consideration is helping this worthy cause that directly helps your child. The proceed makes such a difference and we cannot do it without you!  I hope to see everyone at the Gala on Friday March 18th.
THE 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE
HABIT 7: SHARPENING THE SAW
Sharpen the Saw means preserving and enhancing the greatest asset you have–you. It means having a balanced program for self-renewal in the four areas of your life: physical, social/emotional, mental, and spiritual. Here are some examples of activities:
Physical: Beneficial eating, exercising, and resting
Social/Emotional: Making social and meaningful connections with others
Mental: Learning, reading, writing, and teaching
Spiritual: Spending time in nature, expanding spiritual self through meditation, music, art, prayer, or service

Ogden Nature Center Field Trip Chaperon needed

Hi,

On Thursday, April 14th, our class will be attended the Ogden Nature Center for a presentation on birds.  We will be leaving the school at 11:50 p.m. in order to be ready for our presentation at 12:30 p.m.  Our presentation will conclude at 2:30 p.m. and students will need to be picked up at that time.  I am need of a chaperon to attend with our class. The Ogden Nature Center has a strict policy that no other sibling may attend, even infants.  If you are available and willing to attend, please send me an email ASAP.  Additional chaperons may attend at a fee of $3 paid to the Ogden Nature Center the day of the field trip.  Also, if you are a certified driver and would be willing to drive students, please let me know.  Please know that parents will be responsible to make arrangements for your child’s transportation that day.  I will be sending home permission slips on March 28th.  Thank you.
