Home Projects

February home projects were so much fun!  Thank you for continuing to support your child with their homework.  If they have not yet completed the “I wonder..” projects, please help them to complete these as soon as possible.  March home projects are in relation to Africa.  Last week the students spent time exploring animals, plants, foods, countries, landmarks, etc found in Africa.  Your child may choose any topic relating to Africa. Reminder that your child will need a written product completed with each home project.  If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to email me.

Dress Code

I hope you have had a chance to visit the recent dress code reminder Ms. Stephanie recently sent out to all families.  The issues we are noticing in the classroom are holes in pants, not wearing inside shoes, and wearing leggings as pants.  I wanted to let you know that I will need to be more mindful in enforcing the dress code in our classroom.  I ask for your support and please double check your students clothing before they leave the house.  It takes time away from instruction when I must stop and make phones calls and fill out paperwork. I appreciate your understanding and support.  If you do happen to have questions or concerns regarding dress code, please feel free to email me.

Thank you

I wanted to share with you how much I enjoyed visiting with each of you at conferences last week.  My heart was so full as I drove home after the conclusion of conferences.  I enjoy celebrating their growth and achievements and feeling the love you have for each of your children.  Thank you for allowing me to be apart of their growth.  I also wanted to thank you for all thoughtful Valentines and book fair donations, you sure made us feel appreciated.

Week of February 8th

Thank you for supporting the carnation fundraiser.  It was a big hit!  I personally enjoyed the thoughtful cards and flowers I received.  Thank you!

We will be having the book fair during conferences this week.  I was surprised to learn that our school receives 50% of all book sales.  Please come and support this great cause.

Students are invited to attend this conference, but I will let you use your discretion.  I know there are times when we may not want to openly discuss concerns with your child present.  I do enjoy celebrating their growth with you and also setting goals for the remainder of the year.

We will pass out valentines on Thursday.  It is not required, but if you choose to participate we currently have 27 students in our class.  Students are welcome to bring a decorated box or bag to collect their valentines.

Don’t forget that students are dismissed at 1:00 p.m. the remainder of this week.  We will not have school on Friday or Monday.  I hope everyone enjoys the long weekend.

I look forward to visiting with you soon.
