Chaperone Letter For Our Field Trip Tomorrow

Dear Chaperones,

Thank you so much for offering to chaperone our upcoming field trip to Clark
Planetarium. We will be taking Frontrunner to and from the planetarium. In order to
ensure a safe and fun trip for everyone, we wanted to provide you with some guidelines.

● For the safety of our students, please guarantee that the students you have been
asked to chaperone are always with you and that you can always see them.
Even if students are with a buddy, please do not allow them to go somewhere on
their own. If students need to use the restroom, please escort them and wait
outside the bathroom or stall if appropriate.
● On the train, please sit near the students you are responsible for, if possible next
to or across from them. During the short walk from the train station to the
planetarium, please keep the students you have been asked to chaperone with
you.
● On the field trip we are all representing our school. If students are misbehaving
or acting in a way that is not acceptable at the place visiting, please kindly
redirect them. Do not allow students to run up and down the aisles of the train or
to wander around. They should be sitting with their pockets on the seat, feet off
the seats.
● We will not be the only people on the train. If needed please remind students to
leave other’s things alone and talk with a quiet, school appropriate voice.
Again, we want to thank you for your willingness to help make our field trip a
success. Without you, we would not be able to attend as many field trips as we have.
As a chaperone, students are expected to treat you with respect and grace and courtesy. Please help by respectfully redirecting them as needed. You are a vital part of our MMA community and we appreciate all you do.

Sincerely Yours
MMA Lower Elementary Team

Field Trip Tomorrow

Hi,

Don’t forget tomorrow is our field trip.  Meet at the Frontrunner at 8:10 a.m.  Students need a sack lunch, water bottle, small backpack, good shoes for walking, and clothing for the weather.  We will be outside a good portion of the time, including our lunchtime.

Parents are welcome to join.  All of the chaperone passes have been claimed, but we would still love your support, you would just need to pay for your Frontrunner pass.

If for some reason your child will not be attending, please send me an email by 7:30 a.m.

Level 3 End of Year

Hi,

This post only applies to our level 3 students.  This week starting tomorrow, each 3rd grade student will have the opportunity to shadow in Ms. Laura’s, our mentor classroom, for the day.  The students are aware which day they will be attending her classroom.  If your child happens to miss the day we are scheduled, we will do our best to find an alternative day.

Rise, end of year state testing, for our level 3 students will take place on both Wednesday, May 8th and Thursday, May 9th.  We will be completing these starting at 9:00 a.m.  Please make certain your child is well rested and has had a hearty breakfast.  Encourage your child to focus, do their best, and celebrate all their hard work.

In alignment with their hard work, we like to celebrate each year by having the end of year third grade party.  This will take place on Monday, May 13th, in the afternoon.  We will be sending out a sign up sheet soon for chaperone support and supplies.  The kids are always so excited and we appreciate your support with this event.

Our last and final big event will be the 3rd grade bridging ceremony.  For those of you new to Montessori, this is our graduation ceremony as they enter into the upper elementary.  This is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May  21st.  I currently do not have a time, but do know this is an early out day at 1:00 p.m., so I can assume it will be in the morning hours. Details will be coming soon, but please mark your calendar for the event.

If you have questions or concerns regarding any of these events, please let me know.

Please let me know, asap!

Hi, just a reminder to please let me know asap, if you can attend our upcoming field trip on Wednesday, May 1st. The more support we have the better.  Also, please sign up your child’s ride asap.  You can find that link here.

Thank you to those parents who helped chaperone today and were willing to provide rides.  We greatly appreciate your help.

Planetarium Field Trip: Wednesday May 1st

Below you will find our schedule for our upcoming field trip, Wednesday, May 1st.  Parents are encouraged to attend.  I have 8 free chaperone wristbands, so first to email me will receive a wristband.  If you miss out on a chaperone wristband, you can still attend, you will however, be responsible for purchasing your own tracks fair.

Please note that we will be meeting early at 8:10 a.m.

I have created a sign up sheet, so I can insure all students have proper transportation.  Ideally, you will be able to provide a ride for your child, but we understand circumstances do come up and I will try my best to accommodate those needs.  The sign up can be found here.

Reminder that tomorrow is our field trip.  If you are driving your own child, please meet us at the theater at 8:45 a.m.  Ms. Steph will be there at 8:45 a.m. to meet students and will have a bright green sign for you to find her easily.  Please check in and stay with Ms. Steph, we are to attend this field trip with our  own class.  If you are driving your own child back to the school, please have them keep their backpacks in the car while they are at the field trip.

Students who are getting rides to the field trip, please have your child meet us in the school library before the morning bell.   We will organize students with their rides there and leave at 8:35 a.m.  I have spoken to the students about the importance of being on time.  I also asked them to please take their backpacks to their lockers before they come into the library to find their ride.

If for some reason something comes up and your child is not able to attend school tomorrow.  Please send me at email before 8:00 a.m., so we are not waiting for them.

The movie is ending a little earlier than originally thought.  Please be back at the theater by 10:30 a.m. to pick up your child and transport them to school.  Once you arrive back at school, our class will meet at North Shore and enter the building together once all of our class is there.

Thank you for your support in making these wonderful experiences come alive.

I also wanted to note that our next field trip to the Planetarium will take place on Wednesday, May 1st.  There was a typo in a previous post.  This is 2 weeks from today.  I will be posting the cover letter and sending home a hard copy very soon.

Spring Pictures

Spring pictures are on Wednesday, April 10. Each student has the opportunity to get a Spring Photo taken starting at 9:00 AM. Spring pictures are photos that are taken at school but won’t be featured in the yearbook. It’s an opportunity for families to get portraits of their students with various backdrops and even props without paying the traditional photo studio prices. Please let me know if you would like an order form.
