Spring Music Concert

Ms. Clarissa will need 2 volunteers to play piano for the concert or one person willing to help with all practices and both concert times. She will also need 2 parents volunteers per class for one practice and at the concert.

The Lower El concert pianist would come in to practice with us on April 9-10 and 16-17 from 10:00am to 2:15pm with an hour lunch break from 11:45am-12:45pm. We will also need the Lower El concert pianist to practice for an hour on April 20th in the morning (time TBD) and for the concert on April 20th 5:30-6:30pm.

The Upper El Concert pianist would come in to practice with us on April 11-12 and 18-19 from 10:00am to 2:15pm with an hour lunch break from 11:45am-12:45pm. We will also need the Upper El concert pianist to practice for an hour on April 20th in the morning (time TBD) and for the concert on April 20th from 6:30-7:30pm.

Ms. Clarissa will need 2 parent volunteers per class to come and help organize kids backstage. They will be needed for an hour in the morning on April 20th so we can practice what will happen backstage. Parent volunteers will then be needed at the concert at Weber HS from 5:15-6:00pm on April 20th for Lower El and 6:15-7:30pm for Upper El.

I want to thank everyone for your help with our field trip today.  I appreciate all your support with rides and chaperones.  We ended up having beautiful weather and lots of mud.  We made recycled paper that will be sent home once it dries.  We did lots of fun activities relating to our botany studies.

Our next field trip will be Friday, April 20th.  We will be celebrating Earth Day at the Ogden Botanical Gardens.  I would like to invite you to come participate with your child.  We will be doing some Earth Day activities, botany studies, and cleaning the parkway.  We will finish our time at the playground for some fun and lunch.  The 20th is an early out day, so we will meet at the parkway and leave from the parkway.  We will not be in the classroom this day.  I will send home reminder letters, with all the details, later this week.

Ogden Nature Center Field Trip

The following reminder was sent home after school on Monday.  I am still looking for parents who would be willing to drive. Please email me asap if you are willing to help with rides.

Maria Montessori Academy

Field Experience on ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­March 26, 2018

at Ogden Nature Center

What you will do and what you will learn
  • Students will explore and learn about Trees in relationship to our botany studies.
  • Students will participate in hands on activities.
  • Students will have a short time to explore the numerous exhibits Ogden Nature Center has to offer.

 

What you will need to wear or bring
  • Students will need to wear good shoes and be dressed for outdoor weather.
Our Schedule
  • Rides will meet students, in North Shore parking lot, at 11:50 a.m. for departure to Ogden Nature Center.
  • Class will meet in main parking lot of Ogden Nature Center at 12:15 p.m.
  • Students will leave from Ogden Nature Center main parking lot at 2:40 p.m.
  • Carpools will arrive at Maria Montessori Academy at 3:00 p.m.

Gala

Did you know the Gala’s in the past have made the school money so they could purchase computers, bike rack, P.E. equipment, crosswalk flashing lights, etc…? This year the school is in need of a new playground and we are hoping to get enough money to make a big difference in the playground bill. In comes the GALA:) Our ticket sales for the Gala so far are looking a little sad. We are asking MMA parents to step up and come support MMA. OR we will be at the Northeast Corner of North Shore parking lot taking donations and selling Gala tickets this Wednesday and Thursday from 3-4 (drive thru style)!! Hope to see you there:)

Spelling Bee

We are excited to announce we will be participating in the fourth annual spelling bee at our school.  Your student will be bringing home a packet with more information. Participation is strongly encouraged, but not required.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

This is our biggest fundraiser of the year.  Please read below how you can help provide items for our silent auction.

Gala Donations Needed!

Plans for our annual Gala are underway! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and 100% of the proceeds benefit the students of MMA. Past year’s proceeds have purchased computers, playground and PE equipment, classroom grants, and so much more! Every year MAPA asks each classroom to donate a basket for our silent auction. If you have a connection to items that would benefit any of the baskets listed regardless of your student’s class, please consider donating. Watch for a request from your students room parent for more details. If you don’t see your child’s class on this list please contact the teacher and possibly offer to help create a basket for the Gala. As always, any items donated go toward your service hours.
