Our MAPA meeting for April is Friday, April 10th at 8:45am in the Conference room. Everyone is welcome!

MAPA nominations are going on now through April 9th. The following MAPA board positions are up for election for the 2015-16 school year: Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

If you’re interested in one of these positions, or wish to nominate someone else, email name and contact info to mapa@mariamontessoriacademy.org. All nominations will be put to a vote at our April 10th meeting.

We are also looking for people to chair the following committees:

Gala (If you like to plan parties, the Gala is definitely for you!)

Events (The Events committee is in charge of Fall Festival, gratitude feast, and field day.

Teacher Appreciation (Teacher Appreciation Committee helps support our wonderful teachers with monthly “thanks yous” and dinner during parent teacher conferences.)

The Box Top Store is open for business, Wednesday, March 18th! Bring your clipped, un-expired box tops to “buy” lots a fun stuff!

The Gala is THIS Saturday, March 21st from 5pm-9pm at the Hub 801 in Riverdale! The gala committee is super excited and wants to share this amazing night of food, dancing, raffle, silent auctions, and live auctions with the whole community. It is a night you don’t want to miss! This years proceeds will go to help the school buy computers. We hope to see you there!

We will be selling raffle tickets every day after school in the front lobby. Also, we will be selling tickets on Friday, right after school, in the North Shore parking lot. You can also get your tickets on line at www.mkt.com/mapa

There is a MAPA meeting tonight,Thursday, at 7:00 pm in the conference room. We will be discussing upcoming events such as the Gala, field day, and the general MAPA meeting in May. Everyone is welcome!

It is time for our Spring Book Fair and we are in need of volunteers to help make our fair run smoothly.  It will be held during Parent Teacher Conferences, February 10-12 from 1:00 – 6:30 p.m.  Please follow the steps below to sign up and as always if you have any questions feel free to email me at mandeestephens@q.com.

Our second and final ski night at Nordic Valley is on February 3rd. The registration will be:

January 22nd, 3:00-4:00

January 27th, 8:15-9:00

The cost is $27 for the package that includes a 2 hour lesson, rental equipment, and a lift ticket that is good until closing that evening. The lesson starts at 4:00, so if you leave MMA right after school for Nordic Valley, your child should be able to get his/her rental, lift ticket, and to the lesson in time. You may choose to purchase a meal ticket for $5 either at registration or when you check your child in at ski school.

We are also selling Gala tickets at the same time. If you miss us from 3:00 til 4:00, we will be selling tickets during Jr. High Night as well from 7:00pm til 8:00pm. The price is $20 per person. The Gala Committee has spent many hours planning. This year’s Gala is going to include a DJ with dancing, a larger meal, a cash bar, and a bigger venue! Please support our school by getting your tickets and preparing to bid on one or more of the many auction items we’ll have!

We take cash, check, or credit card for both ski registration and for the Gala. We look forward to seeing you and will keep you informed of future ticket sales dates for the Gala.
