STEM home projects

Dear Parents,

MMA Stem week is coming up the first week of February. For the STEM home project, each child will create a science presentation. These projects will be due the week of February 3.  Below is a description for each grade.

 

1st graders will research and present on a scientist.

2nd graders will do a project using the scientific method.

3rd graders will present on either simple machines or forces of motion.

Listed below are some ideas your child can choose from for the STEM project, but are not limited to:

  • Poster or tri-fold board
  • Brochure
  • Hands-on experiment with write-up
  • Experiment demonstration by student
  • Create a board game
  • Video (Example: Make their own Bill Nye)
  • Performance or skit
  • Diorama
  • Create a book
  • Create a lesson or work

STEM week calendar:

  • MMA STEM Week -February 3-7
  • Science Fair for 6th/8th graders Thursday, February 6
  • Parent Education Science Expo- Thursday, February 6, 5:30-7:00

Tues, December 17-Thursday, December 19–Early out.  School will dismiss at 1pm due to Parent-teacher conferences.

Friday, December 20–No school.  Enjoy your winter break and have a Merry Christmas!  We will see everyone back in school on Monday, January 6.

Dear Parents,
Our deadline for online Aspire accounts is quickly approaching.
