Important message from our room parent

Hello parents!
First of all, I would like to thank all of the parents that used the sign up for the field trip. It is so much easier to make sure that all of kids are accounted for when it is all in one place. That said, there were some students that were not accounted for on the sign up sheet, resulting in a lot of last minute shuffling and not knowing if we would be able to get all the kids to the field trip. Because of this, if your child is not accounted for by 5 PM the day before the field trip, we will not be able to guarantee that your child will have a spot in one of the carpools and it will be your responsibility to get your child to the field trip. I will be sending seat assignments to the parents that are driving the evening before. If you are not getting my emails or if there is a better way to contact you, please get in touch with me so that we can make sure everybody has the necessary information and that everybody is on the same page!
I also want to thank all of the parents who have signed up for donations for the Gala basket! I would like to remind you that we need the donations in no later than 3/13 so that I have time to put the Gala basket together before the Gala (which is the following Friday). If anybody else would like to donate, the sign up sheet is here:
I have also created an Amazon wish list that has some additional ideas. You can find it here:
Every donation is appreciated!
Thanks for all you do!

Updated Field trip info, spelling words, and spelling bee

Dear Parents,

Due to the upcoming spelling bee on February 25th, we have changed the date of our field trip to Monday, February 24th.  I have updated the forms on the blog to reflect the accurate date.  Please print off the new permission form and return with your child as soon as possible.  Please review the field trip cover letter thoroughly for the schedule of when your child needs to arrive at the field trip location and be picked up and returned to school.  If you are interested in attending the field trip with your child, please let me know.

Any student who would like to try out for the spelling bee this week will not be required to study their individual spelling list.  They should instead focus on studying the Scripps spelling list that was sent home a couple weeks ago.  I will be testing those students on the Scripps words this week to determine which two students will be competing in the school-wide spelling bee on February 25th.

Valentine’s Day party February 13

Dear Parents,

We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with a fun breakfast on Thursday, Feb. 13 (The day before Valentine’s Day).  We will be sending home a card with a specific item for each child to donate to the breakfast.  The children really enjoy these activities and we so appreciate your support.  Students can bring valentines and a decorated container that day as well.  There are 23 students in the class.

Thank you for all your support!

Ms. Krista
