Week of August 26, 2019

Hello Parents,

Our first week of school went quite well. Hopefully your children came home excited about the things we did and the new friends they made.  This week we will no longer be picking them up at the front doors. They will walk to class on their own. This week we will begin the preliminary lessons of our new reading program focusing on phonemic awareness skills.

We will also continue the peace lessons, activities six through ten. These lessons include “Good Kind Deeds Tree”, “Making Peaceful Choices”, “Resolving Conflicts Peacefully”, “Circles of Self Awareness”, and “Body: Breath Awareness”.

Other group lessons will include- how to get and clean up snack; Land, Air, and Water; Living/Non-Living; Intro to Magnets and Intro to Primary Colors.  Individual lessons will also be given in both Language Arts and Mathematics.

The Room Parent coordinator, Jenn Adams has suggested that we add to our blog a request for parents/caregivers to respond back with your names, phone, email, etc. and if you would like to be contacted to become a Room Parent. During the time of the KEEP assessment, we had you fill out a form with much of this information, but it did not include whether or not you would like to be a room parent.  If you are interested please let us know or contact Jenn Adams or Taylor Monson (MAPA President). Jenn’s email address is bluemagnet42@outlook.com,  from there she can let you know how to help.

Thank you for your support,

Ms. Martha & Ms. Valerie
