Week of May 18, 2020

Parents,

First a message from administration-

Dear Parents-

It is hard to believe we are at the end of the school year for 2019-2020. We are so grateful to have such wonderful students and parents. We have been especially grateful for all of your support during Distant Learning as we all know this was very much not anticipated!
DISTANT LEARNING SURVEY
Moving forward as this year comes to an end, we are busy planning for the following school year of 2020-2021 and are trying to be proactive as possible. Please take a few minutes to take this SCHOOL WIDE DISTANT LEARNING SURVEY- so we can use your feedback with Professional Development planning in two weeks. Your voice and your opinion is so valuable to our community and our growth as a school. Please take the survey by next Friday, May 22 by 4:00. Again we will be using this information to help us be more prepared if we do continue Soft Closure another time.
YEARBOOK STATUS
We still do not have a status on when yearbooks will be delivered. COVID-19 put a bump in distribution. If your child ordered a year book, you will receive an email from your lead teacher in regards to how and when they will be distributed. We do apologize.
CLASS LISTS
Class lists for the school year of 2020-2021 will be communicated by the end of July.
Thank you everyone!

As our school year comes to an end, please turn in any Sam books and/or other school materials to the office by Thursday May 21. Our final events for this last week of school will go as follows-

Monday, May 18, 2020

On Monday May 18th we will have our Early Childhood bridging ceremony or kindergarten graduation. “Bridging” ceremonies are a special part of a Montessori experience.  It symbolizes a “passing through” and marks a significant period of growth in a child’s life. It is also an exciting beginning to new adventures and discoveries for the child.  Our children are not finished with their education, on the contrary they are just beginning.  We want to celebrate what they have accomplished as well as what lies ahead.

We will be using ZOOM.  The ceremony for the AM class will be at 5:00 pm.  Here is the AM zoom link

We hope that everyone can attend.  As part of the bridging ceremony each kindergarten student receives a certificate. We would like to invite families to a drive through to get their certificate and say good bye on Thursday May 21 from 5:15 to 5:45 in front of the school.  To help observe social distancing we are asking all families to stay in their cars.

Tuesday- Thursday, May 19-21, 2020

Show and Tell/Teach

For these last days of school, we wanted to do a special show and tell or show and teach for our students during our zoom meetings.  Each student will be assigned a day to show and tell or teach about an object of their choosing.  If the day you are assigned does not work for you and another day would work better, please email me and we can make a change.  To allow time for this the AM class and the PM class will have separate zoom meetings.  We are asking each student to decide on what to show to the class, come up with 3 clues to help their friends guess what they have to show and finally decide on one important thing they want to tell us about their show and tell. Regardless of which day your child presents, please join us for zoom each day to support and learn from our other friends.
