Hello!

We have had a great two weeks. Things are going well. We are getting to know each other and preparing for our work cycles.

Thank you very much for the supplies you sent with your child. Remember that your child will need inside shoes. Please refer to the dress code, remembering that students can not wear pants with holes in them, and that on Friday the students may wear jeans with a plain collared shirt or a MMA T-shirt.

P.E. will be on Monday afternoons, please make sure that your student has gym shoes on that day.

Please look for the snack sign up, I will post the link on the blog and you should be receiving an email inviting you to sign up. I use the Sign-up Genius program.

I am aware that one of our students has a severe tree nut allergy. We ask that families not bring anything with tree nuts for snack. It is best if tree nuts can be avoided during lunch too.

If there is anything health related about your child that we should know about, please let me know.

I have not assigned a home project yet, however your child may do a report or research about a topic of interest and share it with the class at any time. This is something we encourage throughout the year. It is a good idea that you email me with their intent, many times they become less brave at school and we can encourage them to share if we know they have prepared something.

I encourage you all to participate with MAPA, they are the parent support of our school. They are an amazing group of people and are always looking for people to help out with many things.

We have the 5-K and Pancake breakfast coming up, your child should have a bright orange paper in their backpack with information about this. It is so much fun, I hope to see you all there!

Your child will be creating an original art work in the next few weeks, it will be submitted to Original Works and you will be able to purchase your child’s art on a choice of many different items, coasters, magnets, t-shirts, bags, coffee mugs and much more. These items are great gift ideas for Holidays for grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends. The finished items will be delivered the first part of December. This fundraiser is specifically for our classrooms, last year I used the money to purchase art supplies! This year I would like to increase our classroom library with the money earned.
