Track it Forward Snack Link

Once on the site, you can scroll down the calendar to sign up for a week of snack for the classroom!

In our Montessori environment we have a healthy morning snack each day. Thank you for feeding our bellies!

For the 2018-2019 school year, please avoid peanuts, tree nuts and snacks that were manufactured on the same equipment as tree nuts. These include: almonds, pecans, walnuts, coconut, cashews, pistachios, hazelnuts, Brazil nuts, macadamia nuts, and pine nuts. We have a student with a severe allergy to peanuts click here for a list of things to avoid in the classroom. All things coded in red we will avoid having in the classroom. All things coded yellow and green can be in the classroom, we will need to be vigilant in washing our hands and eating areas. Please check all ingredient labels before sending snacks with your child and send the label with your child so we can avoid any problems.

Please sign up to bring a healthy snack for two weeks of the school year for 25 children. If each family provides snack for two separate weeks then we should have enough healthy snacks for the students to enjoy each day.

Your child may bring the healthy snack at the beginning of the week, or bring it each day of the week.

Here are a few ideas for a healthy snack: cheese and crackers, fresh fruit, fresh veggies, bread and jam, goldfish crackers, pretzels, graham crackers, yogurt, jerky, animal crackers, etc.

If your garden is overflowing, please send your extra produce to school with your child, even if it’s not your week!!

We usually eat our snack using a clean place-mat and a paper towel or coffee filters. If your snack requires use of more than a paper towel and our own fingers, please bring the things you think we may need. (little cups for dip or salsa, etc.) For most things a paper towel and fingers work great, less clean-up and less garbage. Thank you for your consideration.

Because some tummies get more hungry than others, or some of our kiddos are picky, you may always pack a bit extra in their lunch and they can be excused to eat it during snack time. (This is kind-of a secret, so let me know if your kiddo needs this service!)  Jblazer@mariamontessoriacademy.org

Everyone is understanding that sometimes kids will only eat certain things, if you know your child is bringing something that may cause an allergic reaction, please encourage them to tell me so I can make the necessary arrangements to accommodate the needs of our students.
