On Thursday, March 26, a parent volunteer is going to be taking class photos for the year book.  Please make sure your child is dressed in a way that you will be pleased with their photos in the yearbook.

Thanks!

Cultural Update March 16-27

We are finishing up History units for all grade levels and moving into a new unit of Botany study.  I am trying out a new method for the students to know what is coming and what their expectations are regarding this next unit.

If you have other students in our school their teachers may already be using “study guides” for their work expectations and project tracking.  This is new territory for me, but I’m excited to try it and think the students will like it too.  The study guides can be found at the Study Guide page at the top of the blog.  I will update these each time we move to a new unit of study.  We will be in Botany until Spring Break and will then move into another Geography Unit.

I welcome any feedback to the study guides that you may have.  This tool will evolve as the year moves on in order to maximize its usefulness.

SAGE Assignment update

Good Morning.

The current SAGE language assignments are available today.  I will be pulling kids aside individually to ensure they know how to log in and access their assignments.

Due date for the current assignment is March 19.

If you have any questions regarding the expectations for practice, please let me know.

6th grade Planetarium Field Trip

The 6th grade classes will be going on a field trip to The Clark Planetarium in SLC, Tuesday, March 24, 2015.  Students will meet at the Ogden Frontrunner Station at 8:15 am that morning.  This three part field trip is an extension of the study of planets and solar system in the science curriculum.

Please note that we are asking for a donation of $5.00 to offset the cost of the transportation and the IMAX movie and lesson in the dome theater.  Payments can be made online at https://secureinstantpayments.com?Event=1651

Please note that parents are responsible for transportation to and from the Frontrunner Station.  Drop off at 8:15am and pick up at 2:52pm.  Please be on time dropping off and picking your children up from the station.  There is plenty of time to pick up your 6th levels first and return to the school afterward to pick up any other children you have at MMA by 3:15.
