Each Thursday, your child will receive his/her spelling words either in a formal lesson or through independent study.  They are expected to record the next week’s spelling words in their planner.   Sometimes, due to illness, vacation or perhaps forgetfulness, your student may not record their spelling words.  It is your child’s responsibility to record their words the first day they return after missing school.

Your student will be taking their quiz each Wednesday morning.  Students who study regularly do well on the quiz, and students who don’t,  tend to do poorly.   Please set up a regular time to study spelling words with your child. Helping them build routines for study during upper elementary will benefit your children greatly when they transition to Jr. High.
