First Day of School

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that tomorrow is our first day of school and the solar eclipse! Here are a few reminders of what to bring tomorrow along with some information regarding our viewing time for the solar eclipse:

1. School begins at 8:30am. Please arrive early to maneuver through the new drop-off system. Here is the link to the video of how we vision the system to work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Av109AjuwQ&feature=youtu.be.  Ms. Carolyn will be outside for our classroom assisting students to our class. We are in room 23. Please remind your student to come directly to class. As a class, we will find our lockers and separate school supplies.

2. Please have your student bring in their school supplies as we will using most of these items tomorrow. The school supply list can be found at http://blogs.mariamontessoriacademy.org/mslanasletters/school-supply-list/

If you are having difficulty finding/affording items, please let me know and we can work something out.

3. The school has provided glasses for all students and staff for the solar eclipse. Here in Utah we will only get to see a partial solar eclipse (91%). I will be presenting a lesson on the solar eclipse roughly around 11am. We will be heading to recess when the solar eclipse will be at 91% complete (11:33am). If you are interested in participating with your student, we will be going outside at 11:20am. We DO NOT have glasses for parents, so please be sure to bring your own eclipse glasses. We ask that you leave after our viewing, so that students can enjoy recess and the remainder of the first day with the class.

4. School ends at 1:00pm. We will use the same system as drop-off. Please review the drop-off video to make sure you are familiar with the system as this will help make things move smoothly. We appreciate your patience.

We look forward to seeing your student tomorrow! Please let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or comments.

Kindly,

Ms. Lana and Ms. Carolyn
