Mastery Connect Portals Open!

We are ahead of schedule and ready to open the parent and student portals for Mastery Connect before the first semester ends on January 12th! Students should be bringing home login information by Friday Dec. 15th. If you would like it sooner, please feel free to email Ms. Kacee. kweaver@mariamontessoriacademy.org

Some important information is below. Please reach out to Ms. Kacee if you have login problems or questions specific to the Mastery Learning Philosophy. If you have questions specific to your students progress in a class please contact that teacher first.

Mastery Connect is not an assignment tracker. It is a tool that measures where the student is in the progress towards mastery within the required standards of each class.

In a mastery learning system the learning is more important than any one specific assignment.

You can view more information about the Mastery Learning Philosophy Here and Here

A step-by-step tutorial about the parent portal can be found below

MMA – Preparing Students for College and Career!

Graduation Requirements

Did you know that students who attend MMA through 9th grade often enter high school with more graduation credits than students at the area traditional schools? Some of our graduating 9th graders have entered with 12 credits towards the required 27, whereas their peers from neighboring schools enter with 7 credits. This means that students that attend MMA for junior high have more time to complete Concurrent Enrollment (CE), Advanced Placement (AP) or work study before they graduate 12th grade!

We are able to do this because we offer the following electives for 9th graders in addition to their regularly required 9th grade courses.

  • Business and Marketing
  • Fit For Life
  • Art II
  • Biology
  • Advanced Erdkinder (Natural Resource Science)

Our students learn as much as (or more than) they would at neighborhood schools as measured by the same standards!

The Biology offering is a fantastic gateway for students. Once this course has been completed students are free to move into the following science courses

  • Biology: Agricultural Science and Technology
  • AP Biology
  • Medical Anatomy and Physiology
  • Animal Science
  • Medical Forensics

If your student is planning on attending Weber High you can find the course guide HERE

For Your Information

We’ll be taking 9th graders to Weber High for registration in February and if your student is not attending Weber High we’ll be in contact about how you can help them transition to their chosen high school.

As always, if you have questions about your child’s education don’t hesitate to reach out to the administration or a teacher.

Teen Entrepreneurs!

Ms. Lisa’s Business and Marketing classes are working on a project where students can design and sell their own t-shirts in order to learn about target markets, consumer motivation and marketing essentials. Students in this class have an opportunity to have their t-shirt approved by the administration to be sold as a “school spirit” shirt. All proceeds go to the student designers.

Shirts that have been approved are:

Garret’s Shirt

Ben’s Shirt

Payton’s Shirt
