For the upcoming Fall Festival we will be creating a haunted house. All the proceeds from this event will directly benefit your students throughout this school year. We are asking for donations of any Halloween objects, or parent volunteers to help us build/create a haunted house. We would greatly appreciate any donations of objects or time. Please sign up for which room you would like to eat lunch in for the month of SEPTEMBER. We encourage students to coordinate with friends to select a room that works for them. Please sign up once, if sign up more than once all of your names will be deleted. Also, make sure that you sign up with your correct name, all other names will be deleted. The sign up will close the morning of September 1st, students who do sign up for a room will be assigned one by Ms. Jessica.

Performance in November!
Rehearsals will be every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 3:15-4:30pm.
The school will be providing an opportunity to parents to be background checked between 6:30 and 7:30 tomorrow night during Back-to-School Night. Parents who wish to be certified drivers for field trips, or will be volunteering at the school for more than 1 hour a week, will need to be background checked per the schools background check policy (Background Check Policy). There is a LiveScan required payment of $25.00 due at the time of your prints (cash or check). Please make checks payable to Academica West. A picture ID (i.e., driver’s license, state ID card, passport, etc.) is required for the fingerprinting services. A processing fee of $52.75 to Maria Montessori Academy (cash or check) is required in order for fingerprints to be processed. The fee covers the bill from BCI (Bureau Criminal Identification) which is billed directly to the school.
If you wish to be a certified driver, the office will also need to keep a copy of your driver’s license and an up-to-date copy of your auto insurance card on file. You can call the front office for more information or email ahafen@mariamontessoriacademy.org.
If you can’t make it to be background checked during back to school night, there will be an opportunity on October 18th during Parent Teacher Conferences.

Welcome back MMAJH students! At the end of each day, we gather in 7 advisory houses. We are having fun this week getting to know about each other. Here is a schedule of our activities so that conversations at home can happen:
Monday: Getting to know you activities and receiving planners (they do not need to be signed, but it is a great communication tool between home & school)
Tuesday: Respect
Wednesday: Establish house norms
Thursday: What is Inclusion?
Friday: Growth Mind Set
All week we are participating in team building activities to develop as a house. Tuesday, August 23rd, all 7 houses will spend the day of Willard Bay to nurture these important relationships. This first field experience is a way that parents and friends can become involved in our program. We appreciate your support in providing transportation opportunities to this and other field experiences throughout the year. If you are interested in becoming a certified driver, we have some scholarships available to help pay for the online training and paperwork processing. Good Morning,
Junior High Fees for the 2016-17 school year are $195.00 per student. Reference the breakdown of the fees on the Jr. High Fee Schedule located on the school’s main website, there is also a link below. Please pay your child’s Jr. High fees to the Office or utilize the Online Payment option. All fees must be paid in full by October 1st. If you are in need of a fee waiver, please fill out the required documents and return it to the main office before September 16th. MMA does have a payment plan available although, fees must be completed before October 1st, if you are interested in learning more please contact the office.
