School Spelling Bee- Tuesday- February 25th

Spelling Bee- Upcoming

Parents,

Level 3- (third graders)  and upper elementary as well as junior high students have the opportunity to participate in the school’s Spelling Bee.

This will be held on Tuesday- February 25th. The time will be 9:30 a.m. This will be in the large gym. Parents and those who would like to come and support their student are welcome.

There will be 2 – level 3’s chosen from each class of lower elementary. Two chosen from upper elementary and 4 chosen from junior high.

Those who are eligible will move on to Regional. This takes place about a little over a week after our school spelling bee. The date is March 7.

I have given out to all students the spelling words. There are 3 pages. Level 1, Level 2, Level 3. This just means the advancement of the words.

Home Project- February 12-March 13

 

I wonder….. A photo presentation about something students are curious about. Students will use a KWL. This is what I know. What I want to know.  What I learned to chart to present this.

If you want to make a paper chart and do pictures (draw)  this is also fine- instead of a photo presentation.

Know, What I do know, What I learned.  We will present in class.

Science Projects

Thank you so much for such great project which were brought in to the classroom. The students had an opportunity to share with three other classes today.

I really think they enjoyed being able to share their information and be able to “present.” I truly appreciate your willingness to help your student to learn at home and do family fun activities to build the relationships you can with your child.

If your student still want to bring in a science project- please have them come with it.

I always am amazed at how much your student knows and how well they present themselves in front of the students in class.

Valentines Day

On Friday, February 14th this week we have “Share the Love” day. This will be a day of tours of our school. The tours will be 9:00, 11:00 and 1:00.

If you have anyone who may be interested in coming to see our wonderful school please let them know. They will have to fill out a online form which gives information to the school to know about who is coming and what time.

Also, we will have a class party in the afternoon. If your student would like to bring a token of friendship to their classmates it is fine. There is no pressure if you desire not to. I will have paper sacks the students can decorate and they can make a paper token of friendship for their friends at school.

We will have a party the last hour of the day (1:45-2:45 p.m.) If you have any questions please email me.

Class Spelling Bee

Parents,

In preparation for the choice of two level 3’s to participate in the school spelling bee ( Tuesday 25th) , this week  Wednesday-12th at 1:15 p.m. we will be holding our classroom spelling bee.

The level three’s will be able to give their words and then 2 are chosen to represent our class. I just wanted to make you aware so your student if he/she is a level three can be preparing for this Wednesday. If you have any questions- please reach out by email.

Upcoming February Events

No school- Monday- February 17th  (President’s Day)

“Share the Love”– MMA school tours- 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.- (If you need more information on this please email me.)

Classic Skating Night– (I’ll have to get a time for this. Email me if you need my help to find out)- Friday- February 21st

Literacy Night– Thursday- February 27th 5:30-7:00 p.m.

Delayed Start tomorrow-February 3

Due to the storm which is expected to come. We are following the Weber and Ogden School District to have a delayed school start tomorrow.

S.T.E.M.

Parents,

Just a reminder to have your students S.T.E. M. activity ready to show for this Friday- February 7th.

We will be visiting our classrooms on our side of the building for a brief time period to “show and tell.”

This will begin at 10:00 a.m. and go until 11:00 a.m. I appreciate your willingness to get the students excited about what they are going to be presenting.

This is a great experience for them and I’m looking forward to seeing their creations.
