New Blog- all lower elementary students

Hello Everyone,

I hope this post finds you well. I know things have been stressful in this unknown time with new things that we have never experienced. It is definitely a strange and even stressful situation we are in. I hope you are all able to take some time to relax and take care of your families.

With our temporary school closure, as a lower el team we have put together some amazing resources for you and your child to help ensure that they can continue learning and progressing as they have been this year. As a lower el team we have created a blog that will have all the digital resources for you to use at home. Please take advantage of this and use it daily. We will also use this blog to update you on any info we have and any new resources we have. The link for the blog is: http://blogs.mariamontessoriacademy.org/lowerel/. Please register for the blog using the Subscribe to this blog link to the right of the page. You may still receive updates and emails from your teacher via their personal blog, but during this time of school closure, this will be our main way of communicating.

For those of you that also requested physical works to do with your children, you can pick those up beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, March 18. You can pick them up between 9 and 11 a.m. or between 4 and 6 p.m. These are the times the school will be open during regular school days.

Please utilize the work chart to track the work you are doing with your students. This is something we use at school and will help keep them slightly normalized through all this chaos. We appreciate all your help and work with this.

Take care and stay safe and healthy.

If you have a wicker basket/baskets- you could donate to the “Gala” baskets we are establishing to put together could you let me know.

A handle on the basket would be the perfect type. The Gala is upcoming on Saturday, March 21 at the Timbermine in Ogden. I have sent out an email with an invitation.

Home Project- Physiology

Students will demonstrate the importance of hygiene and good nutrition by presenting on a certain area. Some examples could be but aren’t limited to why specific food groups, oral hygiene, exercise, and sleep are important to our overall health and care of our bodies.

Parents,

If you could help your student put together a brief presentation of one of the following ideas listed above. 1.  Food Groups 2. Oral Hygiene

3. Exercise 4. Sleep

To the care and health of our bodies. It can be an any form of presenting. Our bodies are so important to take care of and I feel the students can really benefit from doing more research on one of these four ideas listed above.

If this could be presented before Friday- March 27. Thank you- Ms. Leslee and Ms. Susan

We have been going over this study in the classroom which has covered our skin, tongue, respiratory system, heart, teeth.

Spelling Test- Thursday

Parents,

Each Thursday- Ms. Susan gives the students a spelling test. Please help your student prepare. On Monday- the students are given two lists. One should go home and one stays at school to review during the week.

I keep the spelling tests. I am putting them in your child’s file-folder which I share with you at Parent Teacher Conference.

If you want to know what your child gets each week- please email me and I can give you a copy of your child’s test.

Thank you-

Ms. Leslee and Ms. Susan
