Hello All,

The home project for November is on Africa. Each child will choose a country in Africa and prepare a presentation with a written part and visual aide. The students will present to their classmates in November. This will also be the project for December, (note: there is no project due in December) since we will present these projects for our school wide International Festival. The International Festival is December 14th-16th. I will send out more information regarding the International Festival soon. Let me know if you have questions.

Dear Parents,

We are celebrating a Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos on November 3rd. We are excited to have a cultural experience with the students and make sugar skulls. We have plenty of jewels, glitter, pipe cleaners and tissue paper. We could use some sugar, frosting, and food coloring for the skulls.  Click here to sign up if you can please. Also, we are in search of some great prizes for the Plinko game.  We are provided with a bag of little Halloween trinkets from MAPA, but essentially the more exciting it is for the students and families, the more money is potentially made for the students and school.  It could be as simple as individually wrapped goodies – Halloween cupcakes or cookies, etc.; or if any of you have a business you would like to promote with goods or coupons, etc.; or even just fun Halloween trinkets or toys you might have lying around.  Any other contributions are welcomed as well, and your tireless support is greatly appreciated!  Signups for donations are on the same link.  You can send them to school with your child, or bring them to the booth that evening.  In addition, you can email Shay Shafer (room mom) at shafershay@hotmail.com to make drop-off arrangements or if there are any questions.  Thanks!

The MMA Fall Festival is coming up on October 14, from 4-7 p.m.  As a class, we are responsible for monitoring a Custom Events rental game, as well as coming up with a carnival game representing Ms. Holly’s class, in which Plinko has been decided upon.  In order for this to be a success, we are looking for parent volunteers to help supervise the fun!  We need One parent volunteer per hour for the “Ninja Turtle obstacle course” and Two parent volunteers per hour for Plinko.  With enough cooperation and willingness, this will give everyone an opportunity to spend quality time with their families as well.  Check out the link below to sign up…

We forgot to hand out permission slips yesterday. They will go home today. If you are planning to take your child separately, please let me know. We need to make sure we have enough seats available with the drivers. Also, Black Island Farms do not allow siblings on the field trip. Thank you!

Hello,

The only day the school could do picture day is on the same day as our scheduled field trip on Monday, October 10th. We worked it out that our class will get pictures first and we will leave around 10:00 am instead of 9:00 am. Keep in mind that we will be taking a hayride and other outdoor activities that may get their clothes dirty. If you want to have your child bring a change of clothes for the field trip, that would be a great idea. They will need to be is dress code.

I will be sending out permission slips tomorrow. Please get them back by the end of the week. Make sure you sign all the pages in the form.

Beginning Wednesday, September 21^st, MMA will be offering our families the opportunity to purchase a rice bowl from Rumbi Grill every Wednesday for their child’s lunch. All proceeds from the purchases will go towards our 6^th and 9^th grade end of year fieldtrips. Your choices will consist of:

It would be helpful if each parent signed up for 2 slots. Since we have a student with wheat allergies, it would be great to also get rice crackers. Thank you!
