MAPA Information

Did you know?

Did you know that donating items counts towards your hours? Have you ever donated a book from the book fair? Or provided items to your child’s classroom for snack or a class party?

That all goes toward your hours. You count the time it took to drive to and from the school and the time it took for you to make or buy the item!

Also anything donated for the Gala, gratitude feast, teacher appreciation dinners or the fall festival.
So please go to your track it forward account and log in your hours!

3rd grade parents: SAGE testing

Dear Parents,

Our 3rd grade students will be testing next month. They had to change one of the test dates, due to a scheduling conflict, that moved up a test to this week.

Here are the dates for the SAGE tests. Let me know if your child will not be available on that day and we can have them test with a different class.

Wednesday 4/11 @ 12-3 pm: SAGE Language Arts

Tuesday 5/1 @ 9 am-12 pm: SAGE Writing

Monday 5/7 @ 12-3 pm: SAGE Mathematics

Let me know if you have any questions.

Tracking/ One-to-One Word Correspondence

Tracking/One-to-one word correspondence

When a child is reading it is important for him/her to have one-to-one word correspondence.  This means that as they read each word, they can touch it and identify it as the word they are reading.

The student should track their finger along word to word as they read or listen to a story.

Some other manipulatives to use besides the child’s finger are a pencil eraser, fake finger, magic wand etc.

While your child reads to you or independently, check to make sure they are tracking with one-to-one correspondence.

April Home Project

Hello Parents,

Next week is spring break. We will not have school Monday-Friday April 2nd-6th. I hope you all enjoy your break together and do something fun.

The April home project is the Asian continent study. Students will choose from a variety of topics regarding the continent of Asia, such as a specific country, historical, or geographical landmark, indigenous peoples, cultural aspects, animals, etc.

Have a wonderful day!

Snack

Hello All,

We don’t have anybody signed up for snack this week and next week. If anyone could donate food, please send it with your child. We will take anything you give us. If you need ideas, we could use crackers, cheese, and fruit.
