The Magic Lake Field Trip

Dear Parents,

Our class is going on a field trip to Weber State University for The Magic Lake on Friday, September 21 at 12:30pm. This is a dance performance and should be really fun.

Please send an email to let me know if you can be a driver/chaperone for this event. I will be putting together the field trip form and send out the permission slip as soon as we get enough drivers.

Thank you,

Ms. Holly

First Week of School

Hello Parents,

We had an amazing first week of school. We couldn’t be more lucky to have such adorable children grace our classroom. I’ve loved seeing how friendly and kind they are to each other. We have had so much fun getting to know each other through activities and team building games. They are ambitious to learn and always trying their best.

We have a leopard gecko in our classroom. At this point, the children will NOT be in direct contact with the gecko. Please let me know if having him in the class will be okay for your child. Eventually, I would like to have the children help with the water and food.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful children with us. Have a wonderful weekend!

Welcome Back to the 2018-19 School Year!

Dear Parents,

We hope you had a wonderful summer break.  We are looking forward to seeing you all very soon.  If you haven’t yet subscribed to my blog, please do so by visiting the blog at blogs.mariamontessoriacademy.org/holly. Scroll to the bottom and click the subscribe link. Make sure to verify when you get an email to get classroom updates and information.

There is an an online sign-up sheet for our classroom snack on the top of the blog in the menu under “Snack Sign-up Sheet”.  If everyone will sign up for at least 2 different weeks during the year than snacks will be covered. Thank you! Please remember that donated foods must follow MMA’s wellness policy. We appreciate your help in making sure the children have snack throughout the school year.

You will also find the classroom supply list at the top of the blog under “School Supply List.”

The school is hosting our annual pool party at North Shore on Aug.16 from 7-9pm. We hope to see you there! If you would like to attend the ribbon cutting for the new addition, this will take place at 5:15pm before the pool party. Your will be able to tour the school.

If you haven’t already done so, I would highly recommend that you subscribe to MMA’s blog for school updates and reminders.   The first week of school is Aug. 21-24.  Please note these are all early release days. Students will be dismissed at 1pm.

3rd Grade Bridging Ceremony

On Tuesday, May 22nd the 3rd graders will be bridging to upper elementary. Please join us in celebrating their hard work these last 3 years in lower elementary. I’m so proud of their progress and leadership they have shown.

This will be located in the gym and will start at 10:30am. After the ceremony they will be eating lunch in our classroom and not the upper el. classroom. If you would prefer to take your child home after the ceremony, you are welcome to, since it is a half day.

Field Trip Tomorrow

It is occupation day and your child is welcome to dress up in what they want to be when they grow up. If it happens to be an outfit that will hinder them from walking comfortably to the field trip, please have your child bring a change of clothes that is in dress code.

Your child can bring a backpack with a snack and a water bottle. I advise to have your child wear or bring sunscreen and wear good walking shoes. They can bring a hat and/or sunglasses if it does not impede your child’s visibility. We will be crossing a busy intersection and I want your child safe.

We will leave the school at 9am and return to the school by 10:30am. Please have your child to school on time so we can prepare them for a buddy system and go over the rules to stay safe.

Thank you!

Teacher Appreciation Week

Dear Parents,

I have had many students ask me questions to help for this week. I never emailed your information to my room mother. Sorry!

My favorite color is blue, but I love all colors. Ms. Sara’s is teal and silver.

We both love tea, coffee, or any drink is great. But, don’t feel obligated to bring anything.

We could always use makers, colored pencils, yarn, or any random art supplies.

Thank you for all you do! We love your munchkins!
