Field Trip Tomorrow

Please have your child at the Megaplex Theatre by 8:45am Thursday, April 18th. We have to be in the theatre by 9:00am and will not be able to accept late comers. We will leave the theatre at 10:30am to head back to school.

If your child is getting a ride to the movie from the school, you must arrive to the school in time for us to leave at 8:35am.

If you have not contacted me or signed your child up to get a ride back to the school, then I’m assuming you will be transporting your child both ways. Parents are not able to stay for the movie unless we have been in contact to be a chaperone.

They do not allow treats in the theatre. We will have a snack when we return to the school.

Let me know if you have questions.

Thank you!

Please Read

We have an opportunity for another field trip next Thursday, April 18th. It will be a Disney documentary about penguins to celebrate Earth Day. We will meet at the Megaplex theater at 8:45 in the morning. You can just drop your children off there instead of school. If you are unable to get your child to the theater that morning, please let me know by emailing me at hgladwell@mariamontessoriacademy.org.

We will need some certified drivers to transfer children to the theater from the school. If you are a certified driver, please sign up at this wejoinin link: https://www.wejoinin.com/sheets/okoqm.

The movie will end about 10:45 ish. Your child will then need to be transported back to school. If you are able to transport any children back to the school from the theater, please sign up on this wejoinin link: https://www.wejoinin.com/sheets/jsiix.

We will have a Track it Forward link for you to sign your children up for rides by Wednesday or Thursday.

Unfortunately, we have an extremely limited number of tickets for chaperones. If you are interested in chaperoning for the movie field trip, please let me know asap. I will take the first who volunteer.

I will send permission slips home tomorrow. The front page with all the info will be for you to keep. Please INITIAL next to the date and sign the bottom and send it back.

We would also really appreciate donations to our field trip fund. If you are able to donate, please stop by the office and donate with cash or check. Any amount is appreciated.

Literacy Week March 11-15

Next week we are celebrating Literacy Week. We have some fun plans for the students to engage in and get excited about reading. Students can bring a drawing or print of their favorite book cover. We will hang them around the school. We will have tables set up for a book swap. Have your child bring in books to exchange for a new one.

Literacy Night is on Tuesday, March 12th from 5:30-7:00 pm. You can dress up as your favorite character. We will have many activities and a raffle will be going on throughout the night. Usborne books will be available for purchase. This is a great time to celebrate literacy with the family.

We will have a school wide read-a-thon on Friday, March 15th from 10:00-11:00 am. Have your children bring books they would like to read and share with the class. Please no blankets or pillows.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Interdependence Home Project February-April

Hello Parents,

Our last home project of the year is on creative writing. This assignment can be based on something that happened to them, or someone they know, or from their imagination. They can choose to write a poem, a song, a play, or a story. This project can be simple or complex depending on your child’s ability and interest. We would like this to be a fun and creative experience for your child. This project must also include an illustration(s) to accompany their writing. This can be from a variety of things- drawing, painting, clay, puppet, mobile, booklet, shadow box, etc.

If you have questions, please email me: hgladwell@mariamontessoracademy.org
