The Science Fair Committee is looking for volunteers to help during our 5th Annual Science Fair (18-19 February). There are many different volunteer positions available: elementary judges (some science or engineering background preferred but not mandatory), both elementary and Jr. High event volunteers to help run the judging station, score keepers, awards, snacks, set-up, and clean-up. The time frames vary according to the volunteer position. Those who have volunteered in the past have found the Science Fair to be a fun and rewarding experience. Volunteers are critical to the success of the fair and we hope you can find some time to join us. If interested, contact Ms. Paula at pdugan@mariamontessoriacademy.org or let any of our other committee members (Mr. Rob, Ms. Fallon, Mr. John, Ms, Kat). Thank-you!

February Home Project
Greetings,
We discussed in class about our next home project. For the month of February the students will need to finish a project on a U.S. president. They can choose any president or they can do a comparative project on 2 or more, or a broad view of all the presidents.
The requirements are the same as the past home projects. They will need a visual aid, written work about their research and be ready to orally present for 1-5 minutes.
There will be an assigned day for your child’s presentation. It will be the week of February 9th. I will let you know the day for each child.
Let me know if you have questions.
Ms. Holly
Grateful
Greetings,
I’m indebted to you parents. I want to send out a special THANK YOU for all the parents that have volunteered in and out of the classroom, gave generously to help with supplies, and all the other ways you have contributed to our classroom. Thank you!
I’m excited for the new year and all that it holds for us. Our classroom community is full of boisterous energy, spontaneous creativity, and love. This year is going to be fantastic. We have so much great work that will be unfolding before our eyes. These children are amazing and I’m so excited to share my craft and knowledge with them. We have numerous lessons, activities and projects that will allow your child to meet their potential. I want to see these children succeed and achieve and they will. They are going to make the world a better place.
I’m grateful for you and your children. Thank you for sharing them with me. I love them dearly!
