Dress Code Update

As you are preparing to come back to school, please remember to read the dress code policy as it has changed. I had several new families asking about it last night so I am leaving the link to the policy here.

Dress Code Policy

As a reminder for our returning families, and an introduction for our new families, your students are required to have a pair of indoor shoes.   These can be a slip-on ballet type or a simple house slipper style, but please be sure that there are no characters, logos or fluffy animals.

If you have any questions about the dress code policy, please contact the school office.  They are always happy to answer your questions.

Let’s Party!!

The annual Maria Montessori Academy Pool Party is upon us. I hope to see all my students, new and returning, Tuesday at North Shore!  The pool is ours from 7-9pm July 15th.

Also, MAPA will be hosting a clothing exchange at the same time. Don’t forget to bring any clothing your children may have outgrown.

Fin

Today is the final SAGE test.  Woo Hoo!

Our students have done quite well with the new test format.  It is much more rigorous than the CRTs, and demands that the students are truly able to demonstrate their knowledge in a variety of ways.  Being a pilot year, and because of the increased rigor, the state has made a statement that they expect scores on these exams to be lower than in the past.   Having said that, we do not expect to see results from this series of tests until December at the earliest.

We, Utah, teachers, students, MMA, are learning how to navigate the process of this new testing protocol.   I for one think we are moving in the right direction with this new testing format.

If you have any questions about the test itself, or test scores, you may contact the office.
