A New Week

Welcome to our second full week of school! I am so pleased with how we, as a class, are learning the norms of our classroom and school. We have been having many Grace and Courtesy Lessons over the last 2 weeks and it shows. I was also so glad to see many of you at the Family Luncheon. We had a great time eating and doing some team building activities together.

Schedule

This Saturday is Maria Montessori’s birthday. We are going to be learning more about her this week and doing some service at the school in her honor.

This week we are also starting Specials and will have a more consistent schedule. Tuesday afternoons, for the first half of the year, we are having Art Class for an hour and a half with Ms. Andria. I am so excited about this. She is amazing and we are going to be doing some really cool stuff.

On Fridays we are doing Music and P.E. in the morning and Computers in the afternoon. We are going to be eating a little later than normal Fridays. I scheduled 10 minutes every Friday before Specials for a snack break. If you think your child might need it, please send them with a little something extra in their lunch they can eat at this time. They will also be moving/running/playing sports so make sure they have tennis shoes or something similar for their outside shoes.

Snack

We still have lots of spots open for regular snack sign up. If you are able this really helps the children out. It also gives us more opportunities to practice Practical Life Skills. Please see the page link at the top of the page for snack info.

Here is the link to sign up.

Field Trips

I am currently working on these and will let you know as soon as they are scheduled.

We still need a Parent to coordinate car pools/rides so we can go on field trips. It requires emailing parents and  asking who can drive and how many kids they can take. Then you would need to send a link from Track it Forward with those open spots for sign up. It’s a really easy program and I can show you how to do it. Parents are ultimately responsible for getting their children to any field trip and we as a school cannot arrange it.

As always, send me an email if you have any questions or concerns and thanks for all your help!
