Happy New Year! I hope you have enjoyed the winter break.
Coming back to school for 2017- school start this Wednesday, January 4. A few reminders coming back to school- please send your child with their SLIPPERS. Most students toes were at the end of their slippers, so they my need to come back with new slippers. They will have until the following Monday, Jan 9 to have their slippers and after this it will be a dress code violation. Also remember to send them with their PLANNERS!
What to look forward to in 2017:
- Book report– Jan. 26, mythology, legend, fantasy, tall tales, fables or adventure
- Science Fair– (level 6)
- Jan. 11 -materials, procedures, data analysis, graphs
- Jan. 18- research paper
- STEM (Science, technology, engineering, math) INVENTION (level 5)
- begin researching inventors and inventions
- Utah History (level 4)
- begin focusing on a historical project or person related to the history of Utah
- JA Bizztown Elections
- Monday, Jan. 9- Asher, Alex and Harley are running for office
- America First walking AM field trip– Wednesday, Jan. 11- Level 4,5
- NO SCHOOL– Friday, January 13
- NO SCHOOL– Monday, January 16
- Astro Camp field trip– Tuesday, Jan. 17- asking for a $4 donation to help the cost of the field trip, this can be submitted to office– email Jen if interested in chaperoning/ driving jenqw@digis.net
- 6th Grade Winter Dance- Thursday, Jan. 19 5:00-6:30 school gym
- JA Bizztown Field trip-(level 5) Wednesday, Jan. 25- asking for a $5 donation to help the cost of the field trip, this can be submitted to the office or paid online at https://secureinstantpayments.com?Event=1573 – we need 3 chaperone/ drivers for this ALL Day field trip for level 5’s in SLC, please email Jen if you can chaperone/ drive jenqw@digis.net

- BIRTHDAYS– we have lots of birthdays in January and February. Please email me to set a time to have your child’s celebration of life. Likewise if your child’s birthday was during the summer or the first 6 weeks of school PLEASE schedule a time with me!
