Week of 9/9-9/13
Language Lessons 5&6
4th- 5, Keeping track of how it all fits (Haundenosaunee). 6, Identifying Main idea
5th- 5, Mid Unit Assessment. 6, Close read on Human rights
6th- 5, Inference about Percy Jackson. 6, Vocabulary, Context Clues
Week of 9/23-9/27
4th – All about paragraphs: drafting a strong paragraph, and concluding paragraphs
5th – Analyzing a Firsthand Human Rights Account
6th – Using background knowledge and gathering evidence from the text in order to write an essay
Week of 11/11-11/15
4th – Identifying different types of sentences, Learning how to draft strong paragraphs, and going over different types of grammar
5th – Comparing and Contrast using setting from a book, Identifying character challenges, and learning comprehension strategies
6th – Creating a mini essay using summarization of a chapter from Percy Jackson, Learning how to create an IVF (comprehension strategy using paragraph structure)
Week of 12/9-12/13
4th – Learning about poetry and reading book about poetry to further close reading skills
5th – Using close reading skills to learn more about rainforests and vocabulary words that go along with passages.
6th – Reading a chapter book (Bud not Buddy) while practicing note taking, close reading, and comprehension skills.
