Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us. We are having fun and starting to get into a good work routine.

 

Tomorrow we will be having a class lesson about the coming of the universe. We use a mostly scientific approach when teaching it. We will discuss how the story is a theory. There is also room for ideas about creation. In fact, we will also study creation stories from various cultures. What we talk about is in no way intended to undermine religious or other beliefs. Please feel free to have a conversation with your child about class. We are excited to learn together.

Personal items (labeled with your child’s name)

• Water bottle
• Indoor shoes / slippers
• Small dry erase board
• Clip Board (please purchase the low profile flat clip for easy storage)
• 1 Primary K-2 composition notebook

 

Classroom items

• Block erasers
• 12 Ticonderoga pencils (I am requesting this specific brand because, though they are slightly more expensive, the quality makes a huge difference. Other brands rarely even sharpen correctly or the lead is broken all the way through.)
• Hand held pencil sharpener (again quality is important, Igloo is a brand that will sharpen. Unfortunately the Walmart ones have not worked well. If the sharpener has a catch for shavings, this is ideal.)
• Wide rule notebook paper
• 3 hole punched graph paper
• Plastic page protectors
• 1 box of tissues
• Paper towels (select a size that is ideal to prevent excess waste)
• White distilled or apple cider vinegar
