This Week!

This week we have parent teacher conferences! This will be a student led conference and your children have been preparing all week to show you what they have been working on!

Due to parent teacher conferences, Wednesday through Friday are half days – so school will be getting out at 1 PM

While we are not having an official Valentine’s day party tomorrow, students are welcome to bring in things to share and swap valentines etc.

Something of note:

Our class pet, Wizard the Lizard was diagnosed with worms the other day.  This is a zoonotic disease – so they can be transferred to humans.  This being said, reptiles and birds are known for transferring another zoonotic disease – salmonella- to humans.  According to the vet, students are no more likely to catch worms from Wizard than they would be to get salmonella, and that the precautions are the same for both.  Wizard is currently being treated for the worms and the vet had no concerns about him being in a classroom full of children.

We as a class are very careful about washing hands and taking care of hygiene as far as Wizard is concerned (due to the salmonella factor), but I know some of the students were concerned.  Please touch base with your child about this, and if you have any concerns please feel free to email me and I would love to address them.
