Our class has a field trip planned for December 7th to see the Nutcracker ballet at the Egyptian Theater in Ogden.  I am trying to see how many drivers we have available to help us get to and from this activity.  We plan to leave school at 11:15 AM and return around 2:15 PM.  Please e-mail me at kgonzales@mariamontessoriacademy.org if you are a certified driver with the school and can drive that day.  Also let me know if you are not a certified driver, but would be willing to drive.  I can not arrange rides for students from school with drivers who are not certified because of liability issues, but parents can coordinate rides with each other.  Thanks for your help!

Hello families!

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how much I enjoyed meeting with all of you at Parent Teacher Conferences last week.  I love getting to know you better and talking with you about your children and how they are doing.  I always look back at conferences and wonder if I said the right things or said them in the right way.  I know that I probably didn’t some of the time.  I just hope that if nothing else, you felt how much I love your children and care about their well-being and success.  It is truly an honor to be a part of their lives and spend so much time with them.  Thank you for sharing them with me.

Dear parents,

          The Fall Festival is just around the corner!  Mark your calendars for Friday October 23 from 4-7pm. Wristbands will be sold for $7 pre-sale or $8 at the door. (Wristbands are for the bounce houses provided by Custom Events.) Tickets will be 4 for a $1. (The tickets are for the games provided by MAPA.) You can purchase a package deal, 1 wristband and 20 tickets for only $10! That’s a $2 savings! This offer ends October 23rd at 9am. Wristbands and tickets will be available to purchase at the door at regular price. You can purchase your tickets and wristbands during PTC (October 12-14) or before and after school (October 19-22) and before school only on October 23rd. Food, cotton candy, caramel apples, and glow sticks will also be available to buy at the festival.

           We are in need of 12 volunteers, between Ms. Kirsten’s class and Ms. Kaley’s class, to help run the Football game and the Airborne. The volunteer slots are for one hour increments. We need 2 volunteers at Football per hour and 2 volunteers at the Airborne per hour. Please, click here  http://www.wejoinin.com/sheets/qwklb to sign up for a one hour slot. Our Studio Friday classes began last Friday and it was very exciting!  I know I really enjoyed it and I think most of the students did as well.  In order for our classes to be successful, we need some help with materials.

If your student is in my cooking class, I have created a sign up sheet for ingredients and supplies.  The sign up is for the next two classes and I hope to have the sign ups for the last 5 weeks up soon.  Please sign up to bring something if you are able.

Also, if your student is in Ms. Amity’s art class called “Tangle” for Studio Friday, she is asking for a special pen for her class.  Here is her message about it:

Your child has selected “Tangle” as an option for his/her Friday Studio classes.  This course requires him/her to have a Pigma Micron .05 art pen. 

These pens can be found at Michaels, JoAnn, Bev’s Imports, Ogden Blue and online.  The price ranges from $1.79-$2.50 depending on where you decide to purchase it.  Please be sure your child comes to the second studio session, October 9, prepared with this pen.  I will label each pen with your child’s name and store it in the class so that it is available for them to use during studio.  When studio ends, the pen is theirs to keep.
