Week 32

Posted in Classroom | No Comments »

Hello parents!

This coming week will be the last week to submit any checks for pizza.  Mr. John has just sent out an email regarding to not accept any more checks for May.  6th graders will be on their big field trip starting today (Sunday) and will be gone for a week.

Home projects are due tomorrow!  4/28

States for this coming week are:

Missouri- MO

Montana- MT

Nebraska- NE

Nevada- NV

New Hampshire- NH

New Jersey- NJ

If you are interested in helping out with the 3rd grade party which is on May 5th, please sign up with the link in last week’s post.  Jalee had gathered ideas and now I am taking over.  We know we will be primarily outside so we don’t disturb the middle schoolers.  We are looking to still have the annual chocolate fountain and we’ll be doing some games/activities.

Our emergency drill is coming up!  Please make sure you have information all updated with the office and to make sure a ride is available for your child May 8th between the hours of 12 and 3.  We as the teachers do not know when it will be that day we just know those time frames.  Also, your child will just go home without any of his or her stuff.  The school will NOT let them back in.

Our last field trip will be May 14 to the American Heritage Center in Logan.  I will be submitting the paperwork and am wanting to get a bus.  I’ll let you all know if I am able to get a bus for that day or if we will be using parent drivers.  Again, you are welcome to come no matter the transportation choice.

May is already this coming Thursday and it will go by fast!  Please stay updated with the blog as many activities take place this month such as: our field trip, 3rd grade shadowing, field day, conference sign up, spirt week

Baby Shower Idea

Posted in Classroom | No Comments »

Hello!

I’ve had a few students in our class and ones I’ve graduated if I am going to have a baby shower at school.  The teachers are doing one for me June 2nd, but the kids won’t be here.  If any of our moms wanted to put something together the last week of school is ok with me.  Tuesday May 27th works the best out of all those early release days.  Food can be brought in.  I’ll make a basic wejoinin link if anyone is interested.  It is a girl 🙂

Here is that link:

I’m good on clothes until about 9+ months old

Mostly gear stuff (bottles, books, diapers/wipes, shoes, bows etc.) is what is needed except pacifiers

Week 30

This week our 3rd graders accomplished their first SAGE test! This coming week they will take 2 more tests and be all done!!

Thank you to Kim, Irene, and Jen who came to help with breakfast!

If you ladies wish to come Tuesday and Thursday, or anyone else wants to help we decided the menu for this week’s 3rd grade breakfasts will be:

Tuesday- Waffles, strawberries, apple juice.  We have plates and forks, but could use some more cups.  We need some waffle irons, supplies to make batter, butter and syrup.  Please email me ASAP and let me know if you can help out with supplies/cooking!

Thursday- French toast, any left over strawberries form Tuesday, apple juice.  We will need 1-2 griddles and supplies to make French toast.  Email me if you are interested in helping/cooking!

All 3rd grades need to pack a small snack, bring their own gum, have a water bottle, and a pillow to sit on for testing.

Tuesday afternoon will be the practice of our school vacating to the Fire Station across the street (our safe place).  I am going to let you know now and the kids ONE reminder Monday that they NEED to have slippers on.  A lot of our students are not wearing theirs even though we ask everyday.  They either have outgrown theirs, took them home, or lost them.  Tuesday, as a natural consequence when the drill starts and we practice, those who don’t have slippers will be walking outside to the fire station as they are.  Next school year slippers will be part of the dress code.  Please help your child to always wear their slippers too!  Please start becoming familiar with the emergency drill taking place the beginning of May.  We will pretend a lockdown situation and have students evacuate to the fire station.  You will be called and HAVE to come pick them up.  This will happen May 8th between the time of 12-3pm.  I need you to update any numbers to the office and any emergency contact people.  If you are the primary guardians you can pick them up or the people you put as your child’s emergency contact.  I WILL NOT release any child who is not on that sheet.

Illinois- IL

April Free Choice Project!

Posted in Home Projects, Uncategorized | No Comments »

Hello All!

Sorry if this is a little late.  April AND May are a free choice project.  Projects will be due the 28th.

April- Free Choice!- Due NO LATER than April 28th

Students of all levels will choose to either do research or do a book report.  As a free choice, they have a creative freedom to how they want to present their project.  If your child chooses a book, please make sure it is a book appropriate for their reading level.

An easy way to present their project is to get a cardboard project board.  The ones that kids use for science fairs.  They are easy to display and there is lots off room to put pictures and information.  However, posters and other means of presentation is completely up to how your child wants to present.

I’ve had some requests for reports on their pet.  If it is a dog it needs to be on a leash and have a muzzle or leash over their muzzle in order to be brought in.  Cats need to be brought in a carrier.  These are the rules, no exceptions.

Thank you!

Cheers!
