Field trip reminders for tomorrow

Dear parents,

For the field trip tomorrow, please make sure that your child is at the North Shore Parking Lot (opposite the school) no later than 8:30 am.

They should have comfortable shoes for walking and a sack lunch (there is no microwave to heat food, so no ramen noodles please). Friday dress code (smart jeans, no rips) is fine and a pencil to write.

We will be returning in time for 3 pm pick up.

Field trip sign ups for the Natural History Museum

Dear parents,

Just a reminder that if you can help us by driving down to Salt Lake this Thursday for our field trip to the Natural History Museum, then please sign up using the following link: https://www.trackitforward.com/site/389525/event/461526.

We are leaving from North Shore at 8:30, arriving at 9:30. We plan to leave the museum at 1:45 to return for 3 pm pick up.

Field trip to Natural History Museum

Dear parents,

Thursday 28th February is our field trip to the Natural History Museum of Utah (NHMU) in Salt Lake. If you can volunteer to drive and/or chaperone in the museum, you can use the link at wejoinin to sign up: https://www.trackitforward.com/site/389525/event/461526. Ideally are looking for 5-6 drivers depending on vehicle size.

We are leaving from North Shore at 8:30, arriving at 9:30. We plan to leave the museum at 1:45 to return for 3 pm pick up. Friday dress code please and sack lunches. Students will receive the information slip this week.

Just a reminder, there is no school this Monday February 18th for Presidents Day.

Re: drivers for the Pobanz field trip on Friday

Dear parents,

We are still short of drivers for the field trip to Pobanz Orthodontics this Friday. If you are able to drive, then you can sign up through:

We are leaving from North Shore at 8:40 am. The event at Pobanz is approximately an hour and a quarter. We will leave Pobanz at around 10:30, arriving back to school at about 10:45.

Events happening in February

Dear parents,

Here is a list of events happening this month:

  • Tuesday 5th – 6th graders shadow in Junior High.
  • Wednesday 6th – 6th graders have their last day of STARBASE.
  • Friday 8th – field trip to Pobanz orthodontics (am only).
  • Wednesday 13th, Thursday 14th and Friday 15th – PTC from 1:30-:6:50.
  • Thursday 14th – Valentine’s Day. Students may make boxes and exchange candy, but may not consume candy at school.
  • Monday 18th – Presidents Day. No school.
  • Wednesday 20th – box top store.
  • Tuesday 26th – school-wide spelling bee competition.
  • Thursday 28th – field trip to the Natural History Museum – more details to follow.

PTC sign ups

Dear parents,
I have posted the PTC sign ups on Track it Forward [https://www.trackitforward.com/site/389525/events] for the dates of Wednesday February 13th, Thursday February 14th, and Friday February 15th.
PTCs are 20 minutes in length and begin at 1:30 pm and end at 6:50 pm. On Friday there is a break from 4:50-5:50 when there is the built in dinner break, along with another PTC I have to attend. On Wednesday and Thursday there is a break from 4:50-5:30. You cannot schedule a PTC at those times.
The students will have a portfolio of their work to show you and it is understood that they will attend to guide you through their portfolio.

We hope you all are enjoying the track it forward program. All events whether it is school wide or for the class room will be through track it forward.
There is a way to categorize events by teacher, school wide or both together:
1. Login to you track it forward account
( if you have not signed up please do so by going here: https://www.trackitforward.com/site/mapa )
2. Click on event sign ups
3. Click on “filter by category” (the little blue writing)
4. You can then select what categories you want to see the calendar for. For example if you want to see only Mr. John’s sign ups click on Mr. John. If you want to see just Mr. John’s and the school wide events, click on both Mr. John and school wide. You can do as many as you want. 
6. Sign up for event and your done. Track it forward will email you a reminder 2 days before the event.

Next field trip to Pobanz Orthodontics

Dear parents,

Our next whole class field trip is a small one to Pobanz Orthodontics (2221 N. Highway 89, Pleasant View, UT 84404). This is next Friday February 8th at 9 am. We plan to leave from North Shore no later than 8:40 am, spend approximately one hour at Pobanz, and then return to school between 10:30 and 10:45 am.

All the permission slips have already been signed and you will be receiving a cover letter with the information today (Friday). If you can volunteer to drive our students (we will need between 4 and 6 drivers depending on car capacities), please contact our room mom Alisha: eventhair@yahoo.com.
