End of Year Conferences

Please sign up for our final conferences of the school year using the  link at the end of this post.   The dates for the conferences are Tuesday, May 21, Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23.    Because I am working on a Math Endorsement through the USBE and Weber State University, conferences will end at 3:30, May 23.  Please sign up early in order to secure a conference time that works best for your schedule.

These conferences are student-led.  Please plan on having your child attend this conference with you.

Valentine’s Exchange

This Thursday is Valentine’s Day.  Our class will be participating in a small Valentine exchange before lunch, February 14.  A list of all students in our class was sent home last week.  Participating in the exchange is completely optional, but if your child brings a Valentine for one classmate, they must bring one for everyone in the class.  When making or purchasing Valentines, I encourage you to follow our school wellness policy.

If your child would like to make a box, bag or some other type of container to collect their Valentines, please plan on making this at home.

As a reminder, this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday is early release for student led conferences.  School will let out at 1:00 pm on each of these days.

Thank you to those of you who were able to donate tissues to our classroom!  The students appreciate having something soft to use on their noses.

Thank you for supporting last week’s fun run!  I hear we raised nearly $12,000 for field experiences!  That number is phenomenal and we couldn’t have done it without your support.

Don’t forget – Next week is student led parent conferences.  Plan for early release at 1:00pm all three days of conferences – Wednesday, February 13-Friday, February 15.

Please sign up for a time that works for you AND your child.   They will be showing you the portfolio they have put together which will highlight the things they have been working on in class.  As stated in the weekly MMA newsletter, there will be no progress reports issued during February conferences.  Instead, your child’s progress toward mastery of key standards will be shown with work they have personally selected.

It’s that time of year again – Student Led Conferences!

Please use this link to sign up for a 15 minute conference time.  Look for Ms. Amity February PTC.

Please plan for your child to attend this conference with you as he/she  will be presenting their portfolio and sharing what they have been working on in class.

 

 

 

October Progress Reports

In order to make the best use of our time during Parent Teacher Conference this week, I will be emailing a copy of your child’s progress report to you.   This will give you an opportunity to review their report prior to our meeting time.  By doing this, it is my hope that I will be able to address specific questions and concerns rather than spending our entire time looking over the report card together.

As a reminder, we have 1:00pm early release each day this week (Monday-Wednesday), and no school on Thursday and Friday.
